October
is Adopt-A-Dog Month
While
adopting a dog at any time of year promises to be a most rewarding
experience, October is Adopt-A-Dog Month, an event sponsored by
American Humane, to raise awareness of what a dog has to offer
as a family member and friend, and of the plight of many homeless
dogs needing loving homes.
If you have room in your home and your heart for a canine companion,
prepare yourself for making the adjustment successful for everyone
by deciding which dog is right for you and your family. Whether
you want to adopt a puppy, young dog, or an older dog, educate
yourself about what to expect, how to prepare for your new family
member and how to help him/her become a well-mannered, social
dog.
Visit
the American Humane Association's website for information about
Adopt-A-Dog
Month
and what you need to consider before adopting a cat. Visit the
