Help Momma!

Update: Momma has been adopted by a wonderful family who renamed her Bella. She has two wonderful children of her own to play with now! One of whom loves to just sit and rub her belly and Bella is more than willing to let her. We are so very happy for her! Congratulations Bella! UPDATE: We raised enough money to go ahead and have Momma's surgery done. She recovered well and went back to her foster home on Friday 3/22/13 to start her road to recovery!! Thank you to everyone who donated to her fund and a very special THANK YOU goes to The Munt Family for their very generous donation!! Meet "Momma." She has what is known as a PDA, a congenital abnormality in her heart that causes blood to constantly flow through its left side. If not corrected, Momma would quickly develop congestive heart failure and die. Dr. Beam at Clayton Animal Hospital communicated with doctors at the NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine and doctors are able to completely correct this abnormality as soon as next week. Got Heart? We Need FOSTERS!

Loving families needed to join our fostering team...

Adoptions have dropped because of the economic situation and the increase of owner surrender dogs and cats from folks who lost their homes. We have also had a big drop in foster homes for the same reason. Can you open your home and heart to just one dog or cat until adopted? JCAPL provides the medical care and basic needs like food and toys (more info about fostering here).

If you are unable to foster, but want to help, consider sponsoring an animal.

There are so many animals in need of our help. The ones we can't help end up at shelters which are so overcrowded they have dropped their hold times.

You can make the difference!

JCAPL depends on community support, and that of its passionate and dedicated volunteers, to be successful. We are always looking for volunteers and support in many areas.

We can utilize all kinds of skills our volunteers bring to the group. What are you great at?

Coffee Needs Your Help!

"My name is Coffee. I am beautiful, dark brown, neutered Lab mix puppy. JCAPL rescued me from a local shelter. While I was there, I had surgery to repair my Cherry Eye, which as you can see did NOT work. The great vets at Clayton Animal Hospital can repair my eye but JCAPL needs some help raising the funds for the surgery. Can you help me? Once my eye is all better, I can be on my way to finding my furever home! Please help if you can and share me with your friends. You never know who might be able to donate a little something to help me. Donations can be made at Clayton Animal Hospital or they can also be mailed to JCAPL, P.O. Box 607, Smithfield, NC 27577. You can also give donations to our volunteers at any adoption event. JCAPL will gladly give you a donation receipt."

*Some of JCAPL's Cats & Kittens are available for adoption at the Luv-A-Pet Center at the Petsmart in White Oak Shopping Center in Garner during store hours. Just ask a Petsmart Associate for assistance.

We also have a huge number of cats and kittens in foster homes. See our current adoptable animals on Petfinder. If you see a cat or kitten available and they are not currently at Petsmart, we would be happy to make them available for you to meet...just let us know!
