A scared little baby, covered in fur, a shivering angel, HOPE only a blurr…
Eyes that are blank, hearts almost closed, but YOU see a flicker, your heart, it knows
That scared little baby covered in fur, once it feels love, has a heartwarming purr
That shivering angel with wet matted hair, once clean warm and dry is now, not so scared
WE are their voice, because they have our hearts, when no one else will, we give them a fresh start
Its not always easy, most times its hard, but the reward is so great, when they let down their guard
Their soulful eyes tell us what little they can; we know that they trust us by putting a paw in our hand
You watch as they blossom, as fear turns to love; They know you’re their angel sent down from above
As days turn to weeks, the fear fades away; your heart knows… today is their day
They know that you saved them, the love’s in their eyes; but the greatest reward is in saying good-bye
They’re off to their new home, its happy and sad, too, but remember you saved them, you and your rescue
The numbers seem endless, day in and day out, each one has a story, each face filled with doubt
To them you’re a savior, a friend tried and true, remember you saved them you and your rescue
